Mommy Style: The Best Denim Jacket

A couple of weeks ago we visited the Grotto. I had been years since I last set foot on the beautiful and well-maintained grounds. The gardens are beautiful. Its peaceful here. As I walked around the grounds I felt a sense of peace overcome me and I knew that the Lord was walking along side me.

This past year has been a hard one for me with so much loss. Last March, my father (whom I never met) passed away after seventeen years of battling cancer. We corresponded through letters the last year of his life and I spoke to him on the phone once. One month later, my beloved Grandma Dee took her last breath and departed to the heavens just five minutes before I arrived to say my goodbyes to her. Four days later, my youngest sisters Father passed away unexpectedly. And this past April I learnt that my mentor Raquel passed away during a routine surgery.

Mentally and emotionally, grief has taken its toll on me over the past twelve months. Walking the grounds of the Grotto it was a gentle reminder that you never walk alone... The Lord is ALWAYS with you.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let them be afraid." - John 14:27

I love this denim jacket so much. I pretty much wear it every other day. I snagged it from Old Navy when it was on sale. I coped this baby for $25. You can find it here. It is now on sale for $38 online. It has been my favorite piece that I have added to my wardrobe this season. I think it's the best denim jacket ever! If I told you how long I had searched for the "perfect" denim jacket, you'd probably laugh at me. I had looked for over a year. Yup, a year.

I hope you had a wonderful week. What are you plans for the weekend? I am in a baking mood and may bake a sweet treat with my kids while it's still cool out here in the Portland Metro area and organize some things around the house.
