Hi there!

Hey lovelies, welcome to SDB! I'm Natasha. I am a walking, talking mombie fueled by coffee. I am obsessed with shoes, all things glittery and/or sparkly, and I have an owl obsession. We talk about everything from motherhood, lifestyle, and all things inbetween. I am a mom of three kids and we reside in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks for tagging along! Now lets sit back and sip on a cup of coffee in the AM or wine in the PM and lets relax.

Our Trip to the Pumpkin Patch: 2013

We went to the pumpkin patch weeks ago but I have been seriously slacking on my blog game lately. We didn't get to go to Latin's this year, instead we went to Bi-Zi Farm here in the Couve. We had a great time. Amari loved it! Talan on the other hand had no idea what was up. Amari ran amuck in the kids hay maze, looked at farm animals, drank fresh apple cider, and helped daddy with his first ever pumpkin launch. He had a grand ol' time! We all did. They hayride to the pumpkin field was by far my favorite. I was lugging around a twenty pound baby and was happy to sit down for a few minutes. We grabbed a wheel barrel and went on a mission to find the boys pumpkins. Amari was a wee bit picky but eventually found his pumpkin. Trev ended up picking out Talan's while I helped Amari push the wheel barrel back to the hayride. We had a great time at Bi-Zi Farms this year and I can't wait to visit next year. Talan will be walking! ;D

Talan: 10 Months Old

Seriously...has it really almost been a year since my sweet little boy blessed us with his presence? Where has the time gone? In exactly two months we will be celebrating his first birthday. What?! Crazy! Talan is a little man on a mission ever since he learned to crawl. Little boy is a speed demon crawler too. I miss my non-moble baby sometimes but am enjoying my little mover and can't help but giggle a little bit when he falls over or I see his little Rollie-pollies jiggle as he moves. He seriously is the sweetest and funniest little boy and he loves to laugh and high-pitch squeal just for the fun of it.    He is even starting to try to get back at his big brother and gets him in trouble all the time... We constantly are catching him in the act. It's kind of scary that he has mastered the art at a wee ten months though. Talan is extremely vocal and isn't afraid to voice his opinion when he ain't liking something. He will scream and cry if brother takes his toy or his puffs. No one touches his things. His newest word is, "Dada." I have been trying to record him saying it but little boy never says it when I want him too. He is even clapping! My baby isn't really a baby anymore. He is becoming a big boy. I'm totally in denial about it... 10 months. Wow!

Bohlke Picnic 2013/Baylor's 1st College Football Game

Family reunions are always an adventure. Last Saturday afternoon we gathered with the Bohlke's at Ken Lake for a day of food and socializing. This was my first encounter with all the Bohlke's. It was nice being in Oly again even though it was low 70's and cloudy with a chance of sprinkles. That didn't keep Amari from wading in the lake and squealing at the top of his lungs whenever a fish swam near. Little boy didn't get to swim due to coming down with an infection and Trevor spending a few hours with him at urgent care while I was at work. He didn't seem to let his health stop him though. He is a tough little cookie and enjoyed the taste of his bubblegum flavored antibiotics. After the picnic we headed over to Pam's house for pizza and Pima football. Baylor played in his first college game and it was fun watching it on TV. It was a little weird watching Bay play on TV instead of in person but we'll get used it. Unfortunately we missed Bay starting in his first college game due to having to get our little ones in bed but I did manage to get a cute photo of the two of them with a sign for their cousin.

Talan: 9 Months Old

Talan turned 9 months a few weeks ago but I have been so busy with work lately that I have not had time to post. I am happy to announce that my baby is officially crawling! He started crawling forward two Tuesday's ago with the help of his big brother. Now he is a speed-demon crawler and I am starting to miss my non-mobile baby. He is such a big boy now! He is even starting to feed himself puffs (which he loves by the way). I call him Chubs due to his chunky little thighs and the fact that he now weights 20 pounds. He eats two jars of baby food at dinner and loves anything orange.  He has a tendency to grunt at you if you don't feed him fast enough. He is a silly little boy. Talan is even starting to try to pull himself to a stand and crawls after his big brother all through the house. Talan loves his big brother and I can't wait tell he is old enough to chase after Amari and wrestle with him. Being a mom to boys is the best job ever! Boys are so much fun. And my boys are pretty stinking cute to look at!

What's New with A.J. - Summer 2013

It has been ages since I posted one of these. I think it's time I share what's new with Mr. Amari since I last posted in the fall. My hope was to update these every season; clearly that has not happened! He has done a phenomenal job adjusting to change and he treasures his little brother. He has boomed developmentally over the past six months and is a rather hilarious and very dramatic little boy. I have no idea where his dramatic air comes from. He clearly does not get that from Trevor or myself.

- Amari is an amazing big brother to Talan. He often refers to Talan as his baby. He enjoys playing with him even though sometimes he has a tendency to get a little jealous and a tad bit rough sometimes.

- His speech has blossomed immensely over the past few months. Honestly, little boy talks a little too much and knows words that most three year olds shouldn't know. His favorite word to say is hilarious and awesome.

- His two favorite songs of the moment are "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke and "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk. You can find him singing along to the song from the backseat whenever these songs come on the radio. He sings in falsetto and demands that you turn the radio up louder so he can have a jam session in the backseat.

- He has a love/hate relationship with fireworks. He is both awed by them and terrified of the loud sounds they make.

- His favorite movies are Para Norman, Brave, Wreck It Ralph, and Monster House. He keeps trying to persuade us to take him to see Despicable Me 2.

- His new sport is golf. Sweetboy enjoys swinging his golf club and practicing in the back yard.

- He loves playing basketball on his little hoop in the front yard. Amari has an amazing jump shot. Natural born talent. He is the next Durant!

- He thinks blueberries are disgusting... Weird, right?

- He is almost fully potty trained! Only took a year...

- Amari is a storyteller. He loves to tell stories as well as listen to stories before he goes to bed at night. He is my little Griot and has an appreciation for books even though he treats them like crap. I have had to hide the paperback books in his closet.

- He knows most of his colors. He learned the color yellow because of Dad's yellow Ford.

- Stinker has become victim to fast food garbage! He seriously knows what fast food joints have fries... Ugh!

- He is terrified of bugs! Squeals like a little piglet whenever he sees a spider or fly.

- He is learning to ride his new Angry Birds bike. Doesn't grasp the concept of how to pedal; however, he is learning!

- His favorite number is 49 and 89. Don't ask. Kid watches too much football!

- He loves watching baseball with his Dad and his little brother. The Seattle Mariners are his favorite team. Need to get this kid a Hernandez jersey!

- He loves, loves, loves C-O-O-K-I-E-S! He seriously would eat ten a day if we would let him. He has a sweet tooth like his mama.

- Amari has a very funny sense of humor. Sometimes he does the silliest things and cracks himself up. Talan thinks he is funny too.

And pretty much that's what's new with A.J. for the past few months... If I missed anything, I'll add it for the fall. ;D
