If your outside space is looking tired and worn, follow my tips to bring it back to life!

Choose a new front door

It's amazing the difference something so simple as a new door can make. It can truly lift the whole look of your outside space, and provide a great focal point.

When choosing a new front door there are several things you need to consider. The first is the style. Do you want to go for something ultra-modern with lots of glass, or are you looking for something a little more traditional instead? If the latter is the case then a solid wood door or one that is designed to look like wood is the best approach.

Indeed, doors designed to look like wood, but that are built with more modern materials provide the additional benefits of better insulation, as well as safety

Lastly, don’t forget to choose the color of your new door carefully. Picking a brighter color like yellow or purple that you love, can be great. Although, it's best to take direction from the homes around you, as not all neighbors will love vibrant colors!

Give your driveway some love

To spruce up the outside of your home correctly, you will need to give your driveway some attention. Indeed, old and worn drives can quickly make the rest of a space look tired and dirty.

With that in mind, you will want to choose between repairing what is already there and replacing it completely. To do this you will need to consider the materials that your drive is made from and the budget you are working with. This is because a driveway that requires some simple concrete repair will cost a lot less than one that needs to be completely redone. Although, some drives especially those made with stones only really require a good rake and weed to get them back to looking their best.

Paint the front of your house

One of the most straightforward ways to spruce up the front of your home is to give it a fresh coat of paint. The great thing about painting your house is that it not only protects the wall from the weather, but it will also instantly cleans and brightens them up.

Add some flowers and foliage

It's a big trend right now to have lots of greenery indoors, but don’t forget that plants in your front garden can greatly improve the look of your home. Of course, the type of plants you choose is totally up to you. For a more traditional cottage look go for perennial shrubs and climbing roses. For a more modern look opt for ferns and large-leafed plants to create more of an organic, jungle vibe.

If you are limited on space why not try planting seasonal flowers in pots? Then you can move them around to catch the sun, or even change them out with ease, and without having to do all that bending and digging that is usually associated with yard work.
