Hello, 2022.

The new year started off kinda rough for me emotionally; however, I rang it in with my girls and we had a real good time even if there was some drama. 2021 started with a bang (and not in a good way)! What happened this time last year, I didn't really see it coming at all. It all sorta came out of the left-field with the tragic loss of someone I  knew and cared for and then separating from my former spouse a week later. I knew that 2021 would be rough; somehow, I survived and am eager to see what the new year brings to me. I know this post is a few weeks late, but I wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year and share my goals and word for the year!

I spent a lot of time thinking about the goals I wanted to accomplish for the new year and even picked out my word for the year. I feel like most of my 2021 goals were achieved, some were put on pause due to my circumstances. Most days the need to focus on just getting through the day was crucial for me. For 2022, my four goals are 1) Get my body and mind healthy. I still have some weight to shed and a goal to reach. 2) Build my savings and pay off some debt. 3) Write the damn book. I need to finish writing the first draft of my book for my mentees. Muse went poof and I have left my book unwritten for the past year. The goal is to get it done this year. 4) Start the small business I've been thinking about. And lastly, 5) Step by social media game up this year and actually make some money from my blog and social media platforms.

My word for 2022 is THRIVE. Thrive means to prosper or flourish. I want the year to be all about me growing vigorously no matter what comes my way. My mission is to flourish, to prosper in everything and anything that I do in my career, social media-wise, and personally. I will thrive no matter what the universe sends in my direction.

Get my body and mind healthy.

Walk 1-2 miles per day.

Drink 8 glasses of water per day.

Continue eating low carb.

Limit sweet intake, especially chocolate and cookies.

Take better care of my hair, skin, and nails.

Read 10 pages or for at least 20 minutes a day.

Journal in a diary daily. Focus on getting the thoughts out of my head.

Build my savings and pay off some debt.

Look over past bank statements and see areas I am spending money on the most.

Re-do my budget and prioritize saving instead of spending.

Create a plan for making passive income, for example, selling journals on Amazon. Create a marketing plan to make more profits. Use social media presence to increase sales.

Start using envelop system instead of a debit/credit card for groceries, gas, and shopping for clothes.

Save for the following categories: Emergency Fund II (goal: $1,000), Family Vacation Fund (goal: $1,000), Car Maintence Fund (goal: $500), Christmas Fund (goal: $800), Dream Pair of Louboutin's (goal: $745).

Get the Private Student Loan paid off this year.

Write the damn book. Write. Write. Write. And write some more.

Sit down and write my teen fiction book for 30 minutes each day.

Think of filler chapters. Develop characters more.

Get the first draft of the book done by end of December 2022.

Let the girls and close circle read the draft and provide feedback.

Start the small business I've been thinking about.

Look into the cost of an LLC in Washington.

Start brainstorming ideas.

Create a brand, marking plan, research vendors, etc.

Set launch date. Summer 2022.

Become a social butterfly. :)
