If you’ve recently moved into a new house or are living in rented accommodation, you are probably wondering how you could turn it into a home. After all, houses aren’t always ready to be homes - they need some attention and care from those who live in them before they can become a comfortable haven that is unique to your family. Thankfully, this isn’t too difficult for you to do, and there are a few quick fixes that can help you turn your house into a home. One of the best has to be personalized decor. Not too sure how to achieve that? Read on to find out more!

Use Family Photos

One of the best ways to personalize your decor is to add plenty of family photos. Seeing all of your family photos around each room will help you settle into the house and feel right at home straight away. There are various ways to incorporate these photographs into your decor, but one of the best things you can do is to create a gallery wall. This is just a wall that is covered in photos. Make sure you hang them in gorgeous frames so that you can turn this creative wall into a fantastic focal point!

Get A Personalized Brick

Did you know that there are some companies out there that sell engraved bricks? It’s true, and these are a great addition you might want to add to a self-build project. If you are planning on having an exposed brick wall in your new home, you could buy some engraved bricks for some personalization to the building work. You can even use these kinds of bricks even if you move into a home rather than build one. For instance, why not buy a cute engraved brick to use as an ornamental feature on your mantelpiece?!

Use Vacation Mementoes

Whenever you go away on vacation, you should consider bringing something home with you that you can add to your home’s decor. One great example is to bring back a few shells from a beach holiday so that you can create a pretty display out of them. Alternatively, you might want to buy an artistic print of a city that you visit. All of these vacation mementos will help you remember the good times as well as make your home feel like your perfect place!

Use Your DIY Skills

Making a few DIY items and adding them to your decor is also effective in making a house a home. In fact, this is a great way to get your kids involved! You might want to ask them to draw or paint a picture that you can frame and add to your gallery wall. One other cool idea is to upcycle some old pieces of furniture to create funky new items for your home.

There are lots of different ways you can use personalized decor to turn your house into a home. Let me know if you have any other fab ideas; I’d love to hear some more for inspiration!

Happy Monday friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Yesterday, we went to visit my sister and got to see our sweet little cousin Brenna. My daughter was in pure bliss holding her one-week-old cousin. I snapped some darling photos of Aurora and Brenna.

I spent most of my Monday organizing my husbands and I closet and tidying up our bedroom. It was a disaster zone. But now its clean, dust free, and organized!

What did you do over the weekend? What are some of your goals for the week ahead? Leave a comment below.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and have a wonderful day.
