Gobble, Gobble: Happy Thanksgiving!

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving this year with Trevor's family in Oly. We left the Couve the night before and made the drive up north. Drive-wise, it wasn't too crazy. We did discover that most people travel to Portland on Thanksgiving instead of heading up north. Amari kept Talan entertained for most of the drive. We got dinner at Burger King (healthy right?) and let Amari play on the play place to let off some steam before getting back in the car. Turkey dinner was hosted at Papa and Nana's house this year. Dinner was delicious, like always. MiMi does such an awesome job every time. We all got our fat kid on. We had such a great time with the family even though a few were missing. This Thanksgiving I am thankful for my faith, my family, my career, my wonderful spouse, and my two sweet sons. I couldn't be more thankful. I feel so blessed these days. Happy be-lasted Thanksgiving from the Durant family! Gobble, gobble! ;)

Talan Turns One!

Last Wednesday my sweet precious baby turned one years old. This past year has been a joy getting to know my second born. He is such a joy to be around and is so happy! We celebrated his birthday with dinner at Red Robin's with just our little family. Talan got to try ice cream for the first time (and loved it!) and "opened" his present when we got home, which was a Rocking Dragon.

On Saturday we had his party with my family and Trev's folks made there way down from Oly for it. I felt like a chicken running around with my head cut off trying to bake ice cream cone cupcakes and making marshmallow pops as well as setting up for the party. I think Talan had more fun digging into his cupcake than opening his gifts. It was so precious watching him dig into is very first piece of deliciousness. He devoured the whole thing, LOL. We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with you sweet baby boy. We love you!

Eek, Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween and this year we got to spend it with friends. Amari was the Incredible Hulk and Talan was a little oatmeal colored Bear this year. We stopped by Great Grandma's and Grandma Debbie's to get quick treats before heading to our friends house to wreck havoc on their neighborhood with a three and four year old. Little people can do damage with their cuteness! Everybody loves giving them handfuls of treats. It was precious watching Amari and his buddy Hayden run from house to house with their glow-in-the-dark swords screaming trick-or-treat. We did encounter someone pulling tricks in a gorilla costume, which scared Amari. He didn't want to go to a few houses after that but eventually got over his fears. Amari and Hayden had a blast this Halloween and know they had a great time together. Amari has a bucket full of candy to prove it. Happy belated Halloween! ;D
