- 7 THINGS ABOUT ME -

ONE. I love to bake. Growing up, I had the privilege of learning how to bake all sorts of delicious and yummy treats from my Grandmother. When I found out that I was going to become a mom back in 2010, I set a goal for myself to learn how to bake better. I wanted to be the mom on the block that all the neighborhood kids flock too because I make delicious chocolate chip cookies and other treats. I will say that I have mastered the art of chocolate chip cookies as well as my Candy Cane Sugar Cookies which you can find here.  They look ugly, but they taste amazing! I highly suggest you try baking them this holiday season. You might also like My Grandmother's Rum Ball recipe which you can find here. *Please excuse so awful photos. I took these before I got my fancy one.

TWO. I love to read. Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres are my jam. I love reading stories about lycanthropy and vampirism the most. There is just something about the lore that fascinates me. One of my favorite series of all time is The Noble Dead Saga by Barb and J.C. Hendee. It has the whole Buffy meets Lord of the Rings vibe going on and it keeps you in the edge of your seat.

THREE. Okay, I am a little embarrassed to admit this but I absolutely, love, love, and I mean love, Korean dramas! My mentee introduced them to me about two years ago and let's just say after one episode, I was hooked. I don't mind the reading of subtitles either, in fact, I watch so many dramas now that I am starting to learn the language. My favorite drama is Black which you can stream on Netflix's. It's a dark romance, filled with mystery, complex characters, and lots of unexpected twists! My second favorite drama is Playful Kiss. *sigh* I have watched this drama at least three times. I never gets old and I cry every time.

FOUR. Are you Army? 'Cause I am. I love BTS! Again, my mentee L introduced me to them two years ago. The first song I heard was Blood, Sweet, and Tears. I remember her exact text message that she sent to me. She wrote, "Check out this song. Jimin sings better than Selena Gomez!" My initial thought was that anyone sings better than her. She's a terrible singer. I ended up watching the video and it was over from that point on. The Jimin Effect happened... I encountered sexy Park Jimin. Now I listen to them every day and am saving to purchase tickets for next years tour so that L and I can go to their concert together. Loyal Army over herrrr.

Here are a few of my favorite songs: Just One Day, Spine Breaker, Blood, Sweet, and Tears, Chyper Part 4, Dimple, The Truth Untold, Singularity, Serendipity, Epiphany, Euphoria, and Spring Day.

Vocally, these boys kill me. They are very talented and can actually sing. Plus they produce their own music and write their own lyrics. No ghostwriters. Pure talents these boys are and their music has uplifted my spirit and has touched my soul in a way that I mentally have overcome my anxiety and depression. As cliche as it sounds, BTS and their music have brought me out of the depths of my despair and healed me. I owe them so much.

FIVE. I want to write a children's book with my friend about a snake named Bently. I can't say too much about it here, but just know that I loathe snakes with a passion and the concept behind how we came about this tale is hilarious.

SIX. I hate doing laundry. I don’t mind putting dirty clothes into the washer and then moving them into the dryer though. It’s the having to put clothes away that I hate the most. It’s the ordeal of folding tiny pants and shirts or matching tiny socks that irk my nerves. It probably doesn’t help that I wait until I have 3-4 loads to put away. I put myself through torment due to my procrastination.

SEVEN. As an adolescent, I used books to escape my reality. In the 7th grade, I read To Kill A Mocking Bird. It’s one of my favorite literary books and I have read it six different times in my life. During 7th grade, I also started reading adult level books which probably fueled my vocabulary and made it so vast as I got older. I personally enjoy learning new words and using them in my daily life as well as in my writing. I prefer creative writing over academic writing though. I am writing a novel that will be a series. I have been working on it for going on two years now. The only reason its even being written is that my mentee's begged me to write it for them. Yup, I love them so much that I am writing them a series.
