Top Ten of Thirteen

A lot of wonderful things have happened this year. I can't believe that 2013 is drawing to a close this evening... Where did the year go? Here are some of the top 10 things that have happened to the Durant family in 2013:

1. Amari turned three years old in February.
2. We sold our Camry and bought the yellow Beast in February. I think I'm going to start calling it "Beast Mode" after Marshaun Lynch. ;D
3. Trevor started working at Target. I am enjoying having 15% off.
4. Trevor and I celebrated four years together on March 20th.
5. I got my first raise EVER in August.
6. We went on a family vacation to Eagle Crest and had a grand ol' time!
7. Amari made a new friend. He calls his buddy his "kid" and his buddy calls him his "grand kid," LOL.
8. We celebrated Talan's 1st birthday in November.
9. We watched Amari and Talan interact with one other. They adore each other and are the best of friends. Nothing more precious than brotherly love. <3
10. We checked out Christmas lights in our area. Some places were more epic than others. Time spent with family: priceless.

It's time to say farwell to 2013 and hello to 2014! I am looking forward to what 2014 has in store for us.

The Boy's Santa Pictures are Here!

I have been waiting all week for my boys Santa pictures to arrive and I am so happy with how they turned out! Amari looks so handsome! Talan on the other hand was not feeling Santa, LOL. Hopefully next year he will like Santa a bit more and we will get a smile!

Gobble, Gobble: Happy Thanksgiving!

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving this year with Trevor's family in Oly. We left the Couve the night before and made the drive up north. Drive-wise, it wasn't too crazy. We did discover that most people travel to Portland on Thanksgiving instead of heading up north. Amari kept Talan entertained for most of the drive. We got dinner at Burger King (healthy right?) and let Amari play on the play place to let off some steam before getting back in the car. Turkey dinner was hosted at Papa and Nana's house this year. Dinner was delicious, like always. MiMi does such an awesome job every time. We all got our fat kid on. We had such a great time with the family even though a few were missing. This Thanksgiving I am thankful for my faith, my family, my career, my wonderful spouse, and my two sweet sons. I couldn't be more thankful. I feel so blessed these days. Happy be-lasted Thanksgiving from the Durant family! Gobble, gobble! ;)

Talan Turns One!

Last Wednesday my sweet precious baby turned one years old. This past year has been a joy getting to know my second born. He is such a joy to be around and is so happy! We celebrated his birthday with dinner at Red Robin's with just our little family. Talan got to try ice cream for the first time (and loved it!) and "opened" his present when we got home, which was a Rocking Dragon.

On Saturday we had his party with my family and Trev's folks made there way down from Oly for it. I felt like a chicken running around with my head cut off trying to bake ice cream cone cupcakes and making marshmallow pops as well as setting up for the party. I think Talan had more fun digging into his cupcake than opening his gifts. It was so precious watching him dig into is very first piece of deliciousness. He devoured the whole thing, LOL. We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with you sweet baby boy. We love you!

Eek, Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween and this year we got to spend it with friends. Amari was the Incredible Hulk and Talan was a little oatmeal colored Bear this year. We stopped by Great Grandma's and Grandma Debbie's to get quick treats before heading to our friends house to wreck havoc on their neighborhood with a three and four year old. Little people can do damage with their cuteness! Everybody loves giving them handfuls of treats. It was precious watching Amari and his buddy Hayden run from house to house with their glow-in-the-dark swords screaming trick-or-treat. We did encounter someone pulling tricks in a gorilla costume, which scared Amari. He didn't want to go to a few houses after that but eventually got over his fears. Amari and Hayden had a blast this Halloween and know they had a great time together. Amari has a bucket full of candy to prove it. Happy belated Halloween! ;D

Our Trip to the Pumpkin Patch: 2013

We went to the pumpkin patch weeks ago but I have been seriously slacking on my blog game lately. We didn't get to go to Latin's this year, instead we went to Bi-Zi Farm here in the Couve. We had a great time. Amari loved it! Talan on the other hand had no idea what was up. Amari ran amuck in the kids hay maze, looked at farm animals, drank fresh apple cider, and helped daddy with his first ever pumpkin launch. He had a grand ol' time! We all did. They hayride to the pumpkin field was by far my favorite. I was lugging around a twenty pound baby and was happy to sit down for a few minutes. We grabbed a wheel barrel and went on a mission to find the boys pumpkins. Amari was a wee bit picky but eventually found his pumpkin. Trev ended up picking out Talan's while I helped Amari push the wheel barrel back to the hayride. We had a great time at Bi-Zi Farms this year and I can't wait to visit next year. Talan will be walking! ;D
