What's New with A.J. - The Month of December

I totally almost forgot to post what has been new with stinker baby for the month of December. Guess I got a little carried away with the holiday season. =] Typical. It doesn't help that I am easily distracted. Anywho, a lot has been going on with Amari these days. He is such an active little boy and I am enjoying every moment of it. He sure keeps everyone in his life on his or her toes.

- Amari is using double word combos like "Bye Daddy," and "Hi Mom."

- He can throw a ball (pretty hard and accurate) anywhere from 5 to 10 feet.

- He has met the kicking a ball milestone. He is my right-footed kicker.

- Amari loves to play ball and yells, "Hike" whenever he plays.

- Golf is his new favorite game to play with anything round or semi-round and his club is always a vacuum extension and he will scream, "Hike" at the top of his lungs whenever he hits the ball. It is pretty hilarious to watch.

- He has learned how to say shoe and tries to put his shoes on his own feet. He loves shoes and gets excited when he gets a new pair to try on. He likes shoes like his Mama! =]

- "Go," is his new favorite word to say as he runs through the house.

- He loves to jump, jump, jump!

- He can open the fridge when he wants milk or juice and he has learned how to say juice.

-  Amari loves to color and eat crayons. We are working on the not eating crayons part.

- He will sing (off key and in toddler gibberish) when you ask him to.

- Wrestling with Daddy is a game he loves to play.

- Elmo and Cookie Monster are his two bestest pals.

- Amari has gotten louder with age! LOL =P

- He loves to eat oranges.

- He enjoys running outside and inside and is super duper fast. We may have a future track star on our hands. =D

- He can say and sign, "Thank you."

And pretty much that is what's new with A.J. these days!

Another Milestone Reached: Climbing =/

This morning we had an unexpected surprise from Mr. Amari James. I left him in his playpen so he could watch an episode of Sesame Street while I checked my email. For weeks he has been climbing onto table-tops, chairs,  and the couch and we have waited in anticipation, hoping to God that he would not figure out how to climb out of his crib or playpen any time soon. Well, much to my surprise I hear the Netflix's menu go off on the T.V. and instantly look at the playpen and guess what? Amari was not in there... Nope, stinker baby was sitting on the sofa with the Wii controller in his hand trying to change the show on the T.V. It seriously freaked me out and I couldn't figure out for the life of me how he had gotten out of his playpen. Being the curious person that I am, I put him back in his playpen and pretended to not pay attention to him but watched him out the corner of my eye as he did a high-kick like a cheerleader and straddle the railing before falling onto the couch. He has become our little Tommy Pickles, which means climbing out of the crib will be next... Joy, not!

 Plotting.
 Frustration.
 The high kick.
Straddling the railing.
Freedom!
A very happy little boy escaping the confines of his "prison".

Mr. Clause is 21 Months

Happy 21 Months Amari James!
Doesn't he make a cute Santa?
We think so.

What's New with A.J. - The Month of November

Every day is an adventure with Amari. He learns something new on a daily basis. He is one smart little boy. He makes his parents very proud. Sure, some days are better than others when he isn't a little menace but those moments are rare, most of the time he is our sweet little Prince. He enjoys snuggle sessions, dance parties in the living room, and playing ball. He is 100% boy and we adore him.

- Amari says bye to everyone, even when no one is leaving. If you leave the room, you'll hear his sweet little voice say, "Byeee," and he'll wave.

- Elmo, also known as "Melmo," is Amari's favorite Muppet from Sesame Street. He adores his little red monster.

- Elmo in Grouchland is Amari's favorite new DVD. "Make It Mine" is his favorite song from the soundtrack.

- He loves oranges, apples, and bananas.

- He hates wearing hats unless they are five times the size of his head and belong to his favorite person, Daddy.

- He loves the limited edition peppermint Oreo's and any other cookie. He would make Cookie Monster proud.

- Surprisingly, Amari likes spicy food like his Mama (must of been all the hot peppers and salsa that he consumed when in the womb when I was pregnant). =]

- Sesame Street, Yo Gabba Gabba, Dinosaur Train, and Sid the Science Kid are his four favorite T.V. shows to watch.

- He now signs, " More please" and is learning to sign "Thank you." Some days he will say, "Thank you", but it sounds more like "Hank fo".

- He loves to play games like Hide-N-Seek, Peek-A-Boo, and This Little Piggy.

- He absolutely loves himself some football. =D

- He loves attention.

- Fort building is one of his favorite pass times.

- And he is learning how to jump (not up and down) but forward. We may have to get him a Fisher Price basketball hoop for his birthday so he can start working on his jumper. =]

And pretty much that is what's new with A.J. these days!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I cannot believe that October is officially almost over... Tonight we dressed up our sweet little Prince as... *drum roll please* ...a Dragon! He looked so stinking cute in his costume. Last year Amari was a little too young to go trick-or-treating, so we pushed him in his stroller while Luke, Ness, and Olivia went around Ken Lake. He was a spooky little Spider last year. This year he walked from door-to-door with his bucket in hand yelling, "Meow!" instead of trick-or-treat whenever someone opened the front door, LOL. =D Little goofball. We only took him to five house; however, his bucket was pretty full for his first time trick-or-treating.

Amari's first stop was Great Auntie Pam and Baylor's house. It was so cute watching him hold his bucket while he waited for his Auntie to open the front door. He made one darling little Dragon I must admit! XD When she put in his first piece of candy and he realized that he was going to get treats so he held up his bucket so she could put more candy in it for him. He insisted on six candy bars and three Laffy Taffy before heading inside for a photo opt.

His second stop was Nana and Papa's house (even though they are in Hawaii at the moment relaxing in the sunshine and warmth). Grammy B, Poppi, Auntie J, and Ness were there handing out candy this year. The fog machine intrigued Amari and he insisted that Grammy put three pieces of candy in his bucket before yelling out "Poppi" and running into the house to find him. He loves his Grandpa very much. =)

The third house that he graced his presence with was Todd, Michelle, and Henry's. They had made him a special treat bag with yummies and gave him a Halloween book which pleased him very much. He loves books. He kept showing off by clapping, smiling at baby Henry, and kissing Towlie their dog (cause Nemo doesn't allow Amari to give him kisses). Before heading back to Papa and Nana's we stopped at Judy's across the street and next door neighbor before going back inside for the evening.

Our Halloween was a simple one, relaxing, and the three of us got to spend some time together cause Trevor didn't have to work.

Happy Hallow's Eve!
